"Trying" was shot by an all-woman crew to de-stigmatize ADHD in media and raise awareness around neurodivergence in girls and women. The film premiered in December 2021 at AMC Theatres in Burbank, CA, then screened in January 2023 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA as part of HollyShorts' Screening Series. It was then presented at both the 2023 and 2024 Annual International Conference on ADHD, and was created as the proof-of-concept for the pilot of a television series.
